Pacific Rim 2 and more news from Del Toro

In 2013 the sci-fi action Pacific Rim grossed $101 million in the USA and three times more overseas ($309m), so it was only a matter of time before new projects would start to emerge from it.

Guillermo del Toro has officially announced that he will take a break from working on Crimson Peak to create a TV cartoon series based on Pacific Rim, as well as a new comic book for the series started with Year Zero and, more important, a Pacific Rim 2 movie for Legendary Pictures, which is dated (in 3D of course) for an April 7, 2017 release.
