The Order: 1886 CEO Praises Sony Philosophy, Hopes To Continue Partnership

Ready At Dawn‘s CEO Ru Weerasuriya was featured in a lenghty video interview with GameTrailers. Among many other topics, he touched on why RAD decided to choose Sony Computer Entertainment as a partner for their new IP, The Order: 1886:

We made a very conscious choice to go with Sony with this IP. We made a very conscious choice to ask them to work with us on it, because we’ve respected them for a very long time, I’ve respected Sony as a company even before the days at PlayStation. I think they’ve had a philosophy that actually has changed how we see a lot of things in the entertainment industry, it’s commendable what they’ve been able to do over the years, so for us it wasn’t so much of a question at the time going with Sony. I think our partnership with Sony is a great marriage in so many ways for us, because I think there’s mutual respect there and I do hope this is the way we keep on going, because the PlayStation 4 is an amazing platform to work on.

We’ve been able to leverage quite a lot of it, we know that we can leverage more, I want to say that we’ve just scratched the surface, we’re at the beginning of the generation. We have those years ahead of us to hit a higher bar and we have ideas on how to get there.
