Verdun Coming To PS4 A Year After PC; XB1 Version Possible

As you surely have noticed, lately the FPS genre has completely abandoned the historical setting. There might however be a comeback fairly soon, as gamers are now slowly getting tired of the “modern/near future” setting, and Verdun is perhaps the first of a new wave of games; it’s also set during World War I, which is peculiar as well since World War II and even Vietnam have been portrayed much more often in gaming so far.

We talked with Matt Hergaarden, COO of M2H (a small Dutch studio working with Blackmill Games, also Dutch, on Verdun) about their game, which is available on Steam Early Access and will launch soon. Here’s a snippet about an estimate on the console versions and whether Verdun will be any different on PlayStation 4/Xbox One.

We have no ETA for the Console release as we are still fully focusing on PC version. My guess would be that it would come on console within a year after PC release but you never know how things work out! As for target console our main target is PS4 but if we have a console version we might look into XBOX One also since it does not require much extra work from our side.

We think the content on a console version would be the same. There would only be minor changes with controls and interface to cater to console obviously, but other than that it won’t change much regarding actual game content.
