New The Witcher III Info On HUD, Save Importing, Alchemy

A substantial batch of new The Witcher III info dropped today, including a 15 minutes long gameplay footage which we’ve embedded below. Other than that, there have been clarifications on certain aspects of the game such as the game’s HUD, the method used to import save games and the alchemy system.
Community Coordinator Marcin Mormot clarified on the official forums that certain elements of the HUD will be tweakable by players:
Regarding the HUD, you will be able to change the size of the icons/fonts as well as hide certain/all elements.
The alchemy system, on which we originally reported some time ago, differs in The Witcher III from the previous games as potions will be automatically refilled during meditation, but only as long as the player has the base element for the elixir, according to Mormot.
To clarify. Auto-refilling is still there as long as you have the base for each elixir, which is alcohol, it will refill when meditating. You will, however, require ingredients to craft an unknown potion or a better version of the one you already know. There will also be stronger elixirs based on mutagens which will be harder to craft and will require lots of ingredients (their effects will last longer though).
The development team also just finished a live Q&A on Twitch, sharing a few details on how players will be able to import their save games. On PC it’s fairly straightforward as long as you have the file, however CD Projekt had to come up with another way for consoles and for those who simply changed platform from The Witcher 2.
It seems like CD Projekt RED found a nifty way to do it, as in the game’s prologue Dandelion will recount Geralt’s adventures and the player, as Geralt, will be able to correct Dandelion on certain plot details.
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt easily made our list of most anticipated games for the current year, and we look forward to keeping you up-to-date with the inevitable flurry of information due in the coming months towards the release, now pinned for May 19.
