Dragon’s Dogma Online To Release For PC/PS3/PS4 As F2P, Details Inside

CAPCOM registered the trademark of Dragon’s Dogma Online some time ago and the flurry of speculation started almost immediately. Thanks to Famitsu, we finally have some solid details and a few images; it looks like Dragon’s Dogma Online will be a Free-to-Play title released for PC, PlayStation 3 & PlayStation 4.

From the early translations, it looks like the game will have a full open world which will grow in size a lot with the planned updates, along with a lobby area supporting up to 100 players. The core mechanics will be similar to Dragon’s Dogma, although the character creation is now more extensive.

There will apparently be seasonal/timed events added by the development team to keep things lively. Parties will be capped at four players and you can also use pawns (AI NPCs) if you lack some friends; there will be also “raids” for up to eight players at once.

Quick matching is apparently available as well. In terms of jobs (classes), fighter, hunter, priest and shield sage have been mentioned; players can swap their characters’ job and their pawns’ job at any time.

This sounds very much like the original Guild Wars, with the combat and setting of CAPCOM’s series. Are you excited for Dragon’s Dogma Online? Stay tuned on Worlds Factory for more details as they are revealed!
