Assassin’s Creed Unity PC/PS4 Comparison

Along with our Lords of the Fallen review, we provided a PC/PS4 comparison article showing screenshots from both platforms in the same exact gameplay moments. Since the article was quite successful, we’re doing the same for today’s hot meal - Assassin’s Creed Unity. All of the screenshots were taken from the prologue; PC comes first (shots taken on i7 2600K/GTX 780 by EzioCroft and reported on Neogaf), PS4 shots taken by our own Rosh always following below.

Here the difference isn’t that pronounced. There’s the usual blur on PlayStation 4, of course, but other than that the console version is quite close.

The difference here is really significant. The entire buildings enjoy the superior ambient occlusion (HBAO+) of the PC version, giving it a far more realistic look.

Once again, the biggest difference is the blur on PlayStation 4, the absence of which makes the boy’s hair look much better on PC.

Our last comparison from gameplay confirms everything we’ve seen so far. Everything from the shadows to chandeliers etc. is much more crisp on PC, but it should also be noted that the PC taking those screenshots is a lot more expensive than a PlayStation 4.

Regardless of the platform, Rosh really liked Assassin’s Creed Unity - you can read exactly why in his review.
