Scarecrow Is Batman Arkham Knight’s Main Villain

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Rocksteady about Batman Arkham Knight, currently scheduled for release in June 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This week a new trailer was published (you can find it below), and yesterday Marketing Manager Gaz Deaves held an AMA session on Reddit, revealing a few more details on the game; for example, he stated that Scarecrow is the game’s main villain.
Scarecrow’s probably my favourite Batman villain! He’s not limited to DLC at all - he’s the games’ main villain, and the instigator of the events that kick off the narrative.
This is a little surprising, since it was widely thought that the titular Arkham Knight, a villain created by Rocksteady for the occasion, would be the main villain this time around. Still, Scarecrow is an awesome villain and his boss fights in the previous games were very imaginative.
Gaz also commented on the combat system, which has always been the main feature of the Batman Arkham series, saying that it will “look and feel” awesome and there will be big fights in the game.
Zafer Coban and the rest of the animation team have been doing some amazing work on making combat look and feel awesome. For example, there’s a scene toward the end of the Ace Chemicals Infiltration Part 1 Trailer where Batman faces off against two combat experts. Everything in that shot is taken straight from the game - we just shifted the camera to get a slightly more cinematic angle.
We’ve got some big fights at certain points in the game, where you’ll be facing a significant number of enemies, so there’s a lot to work with there.
Finally, he mentioned that the second part of the Infiltration trailer will be available on Monday, 9AM PST on the official website of Batman Arkham Knight.
