Halo 5′s Mysterious Spartan is neither Cortana nor Palmer

Today, we witnessed an explosion of Halo 5 info, now officialy named as Halo 5: Guardians. One of the things that caught our eyes is the other Spartan shown on the released picture, along with Master Chief. Naturally, it led to much speculation such as that the new protagonist will be Cortana or Palmer, but Frank O’Connor was quick to clarify on NeoGAF.
It’s not Palmer and it is not a girl.
Some might argue that Cortana technically doesn’t have a sex, but she always refers to herself as “she”.
