Far Cry 4 Dev: The Game We Show Is The Game We Ship

Far Cry 4 was shown during this year’s E3 and though it’s a cross-gen title, a lot of people are excited for the next-gen and PC versions of the game.
In an interview with Mark Thompson featured on GamerHubTV, the Ubisoft developer shed some light on what has next-gen done for them game development wise:
I think it’s basically an idea that we could get everything running as soon as possible on consoles. On Far Cry 3 we really kinda led on PC and the consoles came in much much later, whereas very early on this time around, like today, everything is running on PS4 so we have the game as it’s gonna look. It’s already running on the hardware and it allowed us to push and understand what we’ll be able to ship, so that we are not selling bull**** to people.
He also added:
The game we show is the game we are going to ship. It’s just going to get better from this point on.
This should assure those who are afraid of possible visual downgrades, after the most recent Watch Dogs instance.
As far as the open world of Far Cry 4 is concerned, the size of the map should be same as it was in Far Cry 3. An interesting novelty is using elephants for both traversal and as a weapon, since the game is set in Himalayas; to learn more on new features and tools in the game, please read our earlier report.
