Shows like The Walking Dead, Sleepy Hollow, Dracula, Hannibal prove there’s some sort of market for horror-based TV series adapted from movies, comics or books, and today a new one was announced, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series. The series will debut in Q1 of 2014 on the cable channel El Rey Network, property of Robert Rodriguez, the father of the original 1996 cult movie.
Rodriguez himself will also direct the first two episodes (of the 10 part show). The story follows actors D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz as the fugitive Gecko brothers who flee from Texas to Mexico after a bank robbery gone wrong, searching for a safe place, but all they find is a strip club full of vampires. The cast also features Don Johnson and Jesse Garcia.
