American McGee has just announced that Spicy Horse’s series of Alice animated shorts, called Alice: Otherlands, is going to receive help from the veteran Hong Kong writer, director and producer Tsui Hark (Once Upon a Time in China, The Blade and Seven Swords). He has signed up to assist the production of the series, funding now on Kickstarter ($94,300 raised out of $200,000, with 13 days of funding left).

“Alice wanders in the eye-boggling fantasy land. The madness and violence reveal the inner power of a teenager fighting in a hypocrite world of the adult villains. I can already see the impact of the story as a movie. I’d be more than enthusiastic to participate in any effort to make it possible for Alice to come alive on the big screen. I’d join the team to make this project a wonderful success”.
