FX to produce The Last of the Mohicans series

FX Group announced today the project for the development of The Last of the Mohicans TV series, coming soon, probably next year.

The series will be based on the acclaimed 1992 Michael Mann’s movie starring Daniel Day-Lewis (already adapted from James Fenimore Cooper’s 1826 novel). The writer of the 90s film, Christopher Crowe, will be the executive producer for the series and also screenwriter for the pilot episode, along with Kerry McCluggage and Stephen Beck.

The Last of the Mohicans series will be set in 1757, during the Seven Years’ War (involving the British and French forces in war for the control over the Northeast frontier of North America).
