Almost 24,000 Club Nintendo accounts compromised

Following last week’s Uplay hacking, the official Club Nintendo site has been hacked resulting in 23,926 Club Nintendo accounts compromised. HotHardware reports that the accounts were hacked using brute force measures that added up to 15 million login attempts. Users whose accounts were hit have been emailed password change alerts by Nintendo. Personal information such as real names, email and physical addresses, and phone numbers were likely compromised.

Club Nintendo is a rewards service where gamers can redeem games codes and fill out surveys in exchange for coins. Coins can be redeemed for physical Nintendo-related items or games for the Wii and 3DS eShops.
