Brace yourself Nintendo fans: the elite status awards from Club Nintendo are here.
Every year from June 30 to July 1, Club Nintendo - a rewards service that gives fans of the big N the opportunity to receive a variety of different merchandise by earning points (or rather coins) from purchasing Nintendo games - announces their rewards tailored for gold and platinum members.
Reaching gold membership requires you to reach 300 coins while platinum is 600 coins. Club Nintendo members with either status are allowed one reward of their choice.
This year, the majority of the rewards for gold and platinum status members are downloadable games. These download games include: Super Smash Bros., Wii’s Virtual Console; WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase, WiiWare; The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, 3DS Virtual Console; Console; Super Mario Land, 3DS Virtual Console; and Sakura Samurai, 3DS eShop.
There are also three physical merchandise options to choose from, two-thirds of which are exclusive to platinum members.
Gold or platinum members can get the 2014 Club Nintendo calendar, with each month featuring different Nintendo franchises.
The other two options exclusive to platinum members are a set of three posters or the full CD soundtrack of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. The three posters celebrate the year of Luigi and upcoming Wii U titles The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and Pikmin 3.
