One Piece Unlimited World Red-Video Preview

One Piece Unlimited World Red is the latest game in the One Piece Unlimited series, a series with a fair few entries which the developers have used to hone the One Piece RPG formula, to a point where it’s potentially at its best yet.

An Action RPG, One Piece Unlimited World Red has combat that can feel a bit floaty at times. All Real-Time, almost Dynasty Warriors-esque, you can mow down swathes of enemies with the vast range of attacks the characters wield.

With the project spearheaded by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda, all the character’s attacks and animations are faithful to the anime and manga series, with references to older arcs in the series all in good taste. To top it off, the new unique story including Red and the mysterious Racoon Pato has cutscenes that look like they’re taken straight from the anime. The amount of loving detail that has gone into the game makes it very clear that it has been made with fans in mind. Check out my video impressions below!

Overall, the game shows a lot of promise, and is enjoyable in both single player and co-op with your friends.

One Piece Unlimited World Red is out June 27th for the EU and July 8th for the USA for PS3, Wii U, PS Vita and 3DS; the written review is coming soon!
