Sony Has Lineup of Big Games For Q4, Some Unannounced, Says Journalist

The delay of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to Spring 2016 raised the concern level of some PS4 gamers. As it is right now, Sony doesn’t have a triple A exclusive for the Holiday season to pit against the likes of Forza Motorsport 6, Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Quantum Break (though there have been rumors about a delay of Remedy’s game as well).

Though there are indeed more exclusives planned for PlayStation 4 this year (The Tomorrow Children, Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, Ratchet & Clank Redux, Dragon Quest Heroes, Persona 5), none of them can even remotely be compared to the sheer impact of Uncharted 4 on the market. Announcements coming out of E3 2015 are pretty much guaranteed, however many gamers are skeptical that Sony would announce a triple A exclusive on stage and release it within six months.

Still, it seems like that’s exactly what could happen. MCV and The Observer/The Guardian editor Christopher Dring went on a limb saying that there’s no way Sony would go into Christmas without a big triple A PS4 game, and then confirmed to have been told that the company has a line-up of big games scheduled for Q4 2015, some of which are still unannounced.

Truth to be told, the output of the teams within Sony Worldwide Studios has been disappointing so far on PlayStation 4. Media Molecule and Sony Santa Monica haven’t shipped a single game yet on the platform; Sucker Punch and Guerrilla games have both shipped once each and Guerrilla Games has another team working on a new IP, but it’s unlikely that it’ll release in 2015; Polyphony is working on Gran Turismo as always but again, it won’t launch this year; Sony Bend is reportedly working on a big PS4 game, but they were still hiring as of January and they emphasized that they’re not pushing the title out of the door until it’s ready.

That either means that these announcements are coming from partnerships with third party studios, or perhaps this could be really the year of The Last Guardian at long last; if Sony also released an Uncharted Remastered Collection with Uncharted 4 MP beta pass, then I’m pretty sure gamers would forgive the delay completely.
