PS4 Firmware 2.50 Enables Share Play@60FPS, Trophies Search Online
Information about the upcoming PS4 Firmware 2.50 beta has been leaked, and Wario64 (former GameTrailers news reporter) shared on Twitter some of the main features from the changelog. The suspend/resume feature is the most important one, having been touted by Sony Computer Entertainment even before the PlayStation 4 launch, but apparently there is more interesting stuff like the ability to use Share Play at 60 FPS (it was previously limited to 30) and to search trophies details online.
Apparently you can also now delete trophies with 0% completion from your profile, which is something that people have been asking for a while, and share trophies details. This is the screenshot Wario64 shared about the aforementioned suspend/resume feature, with the changelog saying that you can now enter rest mode without closing any applications.
Update: More leaks have been uncovered about PS4 Firmware 2.50. First of all, a screenshot confirms that it will be finally possible to remap buttons outside games:
It also appears like Trophies will finally synchronize in the background, so there’ll be no more waiting while you pull them - I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time!
The latest leak seems to suggest that PlayStation 4 may now support external HDD.
PS4 Firmware 2.50 is currently being beta tested by PlayStation MVPs, according to an email whose screenshot was leaked and has now been taken down. Are you excited about these brand new features? Let us know in the comments!
