New Info On Bloodborne Locations - Yharnam Uncovered

The official Japanese PlayStation Blog posted an interesting interview with SCE Japan’s Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa, with a focus on uncovering Bloodborne locations. Here’s a translation, partly made with Google Translate and partly by Reddit user Partidor:

bloodborne_cathedral

Cathedral Street (Central Yharnam)

This is the area already available in the Alpha stage and shown by IGN recently, it’s also the home to the church of medicine. Yamagiwa states that the three dimensional aspects of the area are meant to help the player split up groups of enemies using the terrain; he also adds that the player may need to act so as not to be noticed by the enemy, like a hunter lurking in the darkness.

bloodborne-cemetary

Cemetery District

This was also previously mentioned in other articles/art. Looks to be a vast area with an ample amount of corpses/undead, and according to Yamagiwa, a troublesome enemy looking like an old “grave” woman will appear.

bloodborne_prohibited_forest

Prohibited Forest

This forest thas been sanctioned as “prohibited” by the church. It’s the home to a den of snakes and potentially to multi-head snake boss; villages and Windmills are also mentioned. Yamagiwa says that this horrible place may deceive the player’s sense of direction with its deeply overgrown trees, but he hints that we may find some help from another hunter if we look close enough through an “unexpected encounter”.

bloodborne_old_town

Old Town

The oldest district of Yharnam, burnt by the church to help stop the spread of the beast plague. Has objects in the shape of bodies hung everywhere (as you can see from the screenshot), and Yamagiwa didn’t want to spoil what they are, saying that doing otherwise would deprive the user of its enjoyment. It seems safe to assume that something special happens in this place.

bloodborne_castle

Castle Cain Hurst

A deserted castle located near Yharnam. Appears to be a certain level of verticality to it. A noble bloodline used to live here, says Yamagiwa. Also, a large tower appears to be on the property, and the area seems quite cold.

Do you feel ready to brave the horrors of Yharnam? I certainly hope so, as Bloodborne releases exclusively on PlayStation 4 in slightly over two weeks from now.
