Wolfenstein: The Old Blood announced

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood has been announced today by publisher Bethesda and developer MachineGames. Executive Producer Jerk Gustafsson said:

Diving back into the world of Wolfenstein has really been fun for us. We’ve enjoyed exploring the events leading up to The New Order. We think fans will really enjoy the story, all the action and, of course, jumping back into the combat with new weapons.

The game will be a standalone prequel to last year’s Wolfenstein:The New Order and it’s planned to become available on May 5 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, priced at £14.99 or €/$ 19.99.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood takes place in 1946, and players take once again on the role of B.J. Blazkowicz as he embarks on a two-part mission in Bavaria; the first part pits BJ Blazkowicz against a maniacal prison warden as he breaks into Castle Wolfenstein in an attempt to steal the coordinates to General Deathshead’s compound, while in part two our hero’s search for the coordinates leads him to the city of Wulfburg where an obsessed Nazi archaeologist is exhuming mysterious artifacts that threaten to unleash a dark and ancient power.
