Dev: PS4&XB1 Capable Of Star Wars Prequels In Real Time

Brad Wardell, President & CEO of Stardock, often talks about programming & videogames on his Twitter account. While Stardock is traditionally a PC developer, this time he spoke about PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well, stating that they are both powerful platforms that would be able to recreate in real time the CGI graphics shown in the Star Wars prequels, and even add more light sources in the process.

Of course, Wardell also tried to explain in a very simplified way the huge difference that DirectX 12 will bring to PC (and Xbox One), allowing interaction between any number of cores and the GPU without any queues.

Between DirectX 12 and the inevitable improvements to both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 via software, the next few years promise to be very exciting for all gamers, most of all those interested in graphics advancements. Still, it is my personal hope that coders will use some of this power to significantly improve AI as it is right now the least developed aspect in many games.
