PS4 1.8 Firmware Coming Around Gamescom
Some PlayStation users have expressed dissatisfaction for the slow improvements made by Sony to PlayStation 4′s firmware; there are a few things still missing, such as media server support and MP3 playback, and lately Microsoft has been very quick in adding new features for its Xbox One, such as 3D Bluray support.
Don’t worry too much, anyway: according to insider Tidux, the next major PlayStation 4 firmware update, the 1.8, will be released around Gamescom (13th-17th August). This one should bring back PS4 on par with PS3; it should be noted that earlier today Sony released the 1.74 update, but as Tidux pointed out, new features are only introduced with 0.10 upgrades - this one only improves “stability”.
