The Canadian indie drama Hackers have found today both its lead actor and main co-star. Actor Callan McAuliffe will now be the lead in the upcoming Akan Satayev directed movie, which is scheduled to start shooting at the end of November in Toronto. McAuliffe will play the role of Alex Danyliuk, an ambitious geeky teenager member of the secret Internet criminal network known as DarkWeb, while Lorraine Nicholson (who has also joined today) will be a fellow DarkWebber: Kira Whittal.
The movie ($5 million budgeted) is said to be based on “real events” about a young immigrant who gets involved with a cyber criminal organization.
