Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance remake picked up again

Some years ago the 2002’s South Korean film directed by Park Chan-wook was seriously optioned for a remake but, after some time, to receive the American’s attention was instead Oldboy, by Wook again, that will soon hit theatres October 11 from director Spike Lee.

It was really only a matter of time before Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance, the first chapter in Park Chan-wook’s Vengeance Trilogy, was considered again as a priority. To pick up where Warner Bros stopped is today a partnership between Silver Reel and Lotus Entertainment, that will work together with CJ Entertainment and Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. We don’t know if they still will base the movie on the Brian Tucker’s script prepared back in 2010, when the remake’s project died, but it is likely.

We hope to have the chance to give you soon enough news about a director and cast.
