Up until recently, no one really knew what the difference between Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain was; were they two different games? Or maybe the same game with a different title? It didn’t help that Kojima kept quiet about the titles until today, where he finally confirmed that Ground Zeroes is indeed a prequel to Phantom Pain.
MGS V: Ground Zeroes will see Big Boss attempting a rescue mission in a Cuban prison and will be used as a way to “ease” players to some of the changes they can expect to the MGS formula for Phantom Pain. As well as introducing players to the new gameplay direction the series will be taking, Ground Zeroes will also serve as an introduction to the events of Phantom Pain.
Spring 2014 is the designed release date, when the game will be available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 as both a boxed version or a digital download. The best part? The game will only be $29.99/£29.99 for the boxed version and $19.99/£19.99 for the digital download on Xbox 360/PS3, while it will cost 29.99 on PS4/Xbox One as a digital download.
