FFXV Team Aims To Get You So Involved You’ll Want To Play Forever

Square Enix is definitely taking its time with Final Fantasy XV (FFXV), but it already looks like it will be worth it in the end. The latest videos (we’ve embedded a couple below for your viewing pleasure) are very promising and even the developers seem to be aiming extremely high with the final result. Speaking with IGN, Game Director Hajime Tabata mentioned that he would like FFXV to be remembered as the best Final Fantasy game ever made by both users and media, but he didn’t stop there, adding that the team as a whole has a quite lofty objective:

When I ask the fans and the media what their favourite Final Fantasy game is, I want them all to say ‘it’s 15’. A personal objective for me and my team is that it’s such a great experience and players get so involved in the world that, by the end, they don’t want to complete the game. They want to keep playing forever. If we can get people to say that, then we’ve really achieved what we wanted.

Tabata-san must have great confidence in FFXV, as that feeling of incoming loss when you’re about to complete a game is only found in the greatest achievements of gaming. While the game won’t release this year in all likelihood, you’ll still be able to get a taste thanks to the demo Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae included in Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which is out on March 17 (check yesterday’s trailer, by the way).

Do you think there’s a chance that the team’s ambition will be fulfilled?
