Ubisoft Removes Multiplayer From Far Cry 4 Map Editor, But It Could Be Added Post-Release

There’s been a lot of controversy regarding Ubisoft lately, mainly towards Assassin’s Creed Unity (though our Rosh loved the game and personally I’m loving it as well). However, it seems like protests against Ubisoft are already extending to Far Cry 4, which releases next week, as apparently the map editor (which we previously detailed) will not allow levels to be used in any multiplayer mode, thus defeating for the most part its purpose.

An early stream on Twitch incidentally revealed this, as proved by the following screenshot.

The outrage quickly spread on the official Far Cry 4 Ubisoft forums, the dedicated subreddit and even other specific Far Cry sites dedicated to map editing, such as Battlemap.net. Some fans tried to contact Creative Director Alex Hutchinson on Twitter and he replied with the following tweets:

Apparently, it was an internal decision at Ubisoft mainly linked to Far Cry 4 budget. That said, there’s still a small hope as Hutchinson stated that hopefully this can be added back at a later date; I personally think it would be a pity to have a single player only map editor, so hopefully they’ll get it done.
