Smedley: Planetside 2 PS4 Looking Really Good, Beta In Next Few Months

John Smedley, President of Sony Online Entertainment since 2002, has tweeted a few minutes ago some interesting news regarding Planetside 2 PS4, the highly-anticipated console release of the free-to-play Sci-fi MMOFPS.

John tweeted first a pic of Planetside 2 running on a TV screen, with the text saying that they are currently testing Planetside 2 PS4 on live servers. Hopefully this test will help the game avoid issues such as Driveclub‘s, but Sony Online Entertainment has a lot more experience with multiplayer gaming than Evolution Studios.

In the following tweets, Smedley promised players a Planetside 2 PS4 beta in the next few month, which will be increasingly large over several stages.

Finally, he replied to a user stating that it’s taking this long because the game really has no equal, which means that there are inherent issues to be resolved before release:

Hopefully Planetside 2 PS4 will launch soon, since it has been delayed so many times already. It may be too late to catch on with the PS4 fps crowd, though, since Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare releases next Monday and plans to monopolize the genre on the platform for a while at least, even though Planetside 2 is really a unique experience.
