Mario Kart 8 Gets Hacked

It’s just been discovered that a recent group of hackers have hacked and modded Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8. From what’s been confirmed, the only things that have changed are track titles, menu fonts, and music. A video posted on YouTube from a ‘MrBean35000vr’ has provided us with proof of this mod. According to the user, the hack was successful due to a recent browser exploit as well as code that allows the Wii U’s browser to edit the Mario Kart 8 memory. Although the idea of this mod is definitely cool, these hackers have come under a lot of heat from other players-calling them out on cheating and corrupting Nintendo’s work.

“Very very basic stuff, more of a proof of concept rather than anything else. None of this is in any state to be released at present, and it’s unlikely that we ever will in the interest of preventing cheaters. We’re not going to be encouraging cheating with this and won’t let our work be used for it. Our goal is to make game mods; custom tracks, etc. Relax and enjoy what we come up with,” the description read.

What do you guys think? Is this a simple mod, or more?
