Mortal Kombat X Introduces Variations

Mortal Kombat X expands each character with the introduction of ‘variations’.

Each character in Mortal Kombat X will have three variations to choose from when selecting your character. It will be impossible to select a different variation during the fight so you’ll have to choose wisely beforehand.

Variations such as Scorpion’s ‘Hellfire’ will change the appearance of character so that they can be immediately be recognised for which variation they are rocking. On top of that, the varation will also allow the character to use specific special moves. ‘Hellfire’ for Scorpion for instance allows him more access to flaming special moves, while the ‘Ninjutsu’ variation lets him use the swords equipped to his back.

On top of each character having a unique playstyle, now each variation will further specialise their fighting style and can change the way the character should be played. The final variation for Scorpion, titled ‘Inferno’ allows him to summon a demon to aid him in battle, which can interrupt and distract his enemy.

Each variation will still allow the player to use all of the characters basic moves from the earlier games so that veterans of the series will still be able to use all the combos they love to disembowel their friends.

Along with specialised combos, different variations will also allows for unique fatalities and even can affect the X-Ray combo moves, where the game shows exactly what damage is being done to the unlucky victim of the assault.

Mortal Kombat X will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC.
