Project Totem Has Unique Art Style

Early on in the development of Project Totem, developers Press Play decided to use triangle based blocks rather than square.

This gives Project Totem an impressively unique feel, with lines and shapes coming off at strange and different angles. It helps distinguish itself from other platforms immediately even before the player learns they’ll be controlling two totem pieces with the same input.

Although almost all the backgrounds aren’t straight, the floor itself still straight. This is by patterning the floor with triangles both the right way up and upside down, to create a singular straight line.

The triangular base was built as a homage to pixel art, and the other games that use retro styled graphics, but the developers at Press Play didn’t want to completely mimic the fashion and added their own spin on it.
