The Division Graphics May Be Pushed Even More On PC

While the reveal of Rainbow Six Siege was the big surprise by Ubisoft at E3 2014, the French publisher is also working on another highly anticipated game in the Tom Clancy universe, The Division.
The game, a unique blend of a third person shooter foundation with MMORPG elements, stunned everyone at E3 2013 with its outstanding graphics. However, after the huge backlash due to the downgrade of Watch Dogs, quite a few gamers have voiced their disbelief that The Division will actually look like the videos shown so far once it’s released. There isn’t anything to worry about according Game Director Ryan Barnard, though, as he revealed in a video interview with Angry Joe that high-end PC configurations may be able to push the graphics even further.
We get that a lot. I think the problem with having an engine like Snowdrop where the graphical fidelity is so high, that of course you’re going to have those concerns. You know, we’re working really hard, especially this year, what we brought is the look that you’ll have on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. PC might even be able to push it.
Another very interesting tidbit is that, after a huge community push for it, Massive Entertainment is seriously considering to add a Survival Mode to the final game, placing a lot more importance on finding food, water and ammunitions.
We’re not talking modes yet, but we are really big into our community. We had a community event the other night, we’re bringing some guys to Malmoe to meet the team and work with the developers, like five contest winners and one of the biggest things that we get on our sites and email is that our community is really interested in the Survival Mode. Without saying anything, we’ve definitely heard the interest and are interested as well.
I’m really interested into that myself, honestly. Providing options is always good, so that hardcore gamers can have their beloved mode without ruining the game for those who play in a more casual fashion, and perhaps casuals can try it sometimes and see if it’s interesting for them as well. The Division is still set for a generic 2015 release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
