It’s been confirmed by Ubisoft today that its digital download service, Uplay, will be making its way onto consoles at launch. Basically all the Ubisoft games will make use of the added Uplay functionality, ranging from Assassin’s Creed 4 to The Division, Watch Dogs and more.
On PC, Uplay is not horrible; it allows you to unlock additional content for your ubisoft games using points earned by playing them (when they could easily straight-up charge for them) and in general the program runs smoothly and doesn’t cause trouble. On the other hand, no one really uses Uplay much and doesn’t feature anything particularly worthwhile. Hopefully it will see more use on next-gen consoles.
