Final Fantasy VII web series seeks Kickstarter funds

Have you ever wanted to see Final Fantasy VII in live-action form?

If so, you may now get your chance thanks to a fan project titled Final Fantasy VII: The Web Series, which recently launched on Kickstarter. As the title suggests, a production team’s goal is to create a live-action version of the widely regarded PlayStation 1 title, Final Fantasy VII.

The overall goal of $400,000 will be used for the first season of five to six episodes at 15 minutes each.

The crew behind the unofficial series consists of more than a hundred professional from the film industry. Xander Williams, creator of the Final Fantasy VII fan-fiction novel The Jenova Project, is penning the screenplay.

So far, the fundings currently sit at $6,985 with 186 backers and 28 days left to back. The money will be used for studio time, production equipment and paying cast and crew members.
