Back in June we told you that Microsoft was planning to launch its Xbox One across various Asian territories like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and India but that Japan wasn’t even mentioned.
It’s today’s news that Japan will get the new Xbox too, but during Microsoft’s second wave of console launches, because this country is considered Tier 2 according to Microsoft Japan’s president and CEO Yasuyuki Higuchi (translation courtesy of Dualshockers):
“For the launch of Xbox One Japan is a Tier 2 country and not a Tier 1 country, so it’ll come with the second wave, that will be delayed a little bit compared to North America”.
