Today marks the release of Minecraft 1.6, one of the most substantial updates since Minecraft’s official launch, adding three new rideable animals, new blocks, items and important changes regarding the engine. In fact, this update is such a big overhaul to the engine that unlike previous patches which could be downloaded directly from the Minecraft launcher, you will have to download a new, separate launcher which will replace the old one.

* Texture packs are now “resource packs” that also can hold sound etc
* Food meter is now drained when healed by full food meter
* You can’t destroy blocks with a sword in creative mode
- Removed Herobrine
