Xbox One will be Region Locked

Microsoft confirmed this morning that, yes, the Xbox One will be region locked. For those of you who don’t know what this means, it means that you cannot purchase Xbox One games from an international source and have them play on your locally purchased Xbox One. For most, this won’t be too much of an issue, but others find it yet another bullet point on an ever-increasing list of disappointments of the Xbox One.

While many consoles are region locked, the PS3 was not. Gamers could purchase games from anywhere in the world without having to worry about being able to play them on their system. Sony has yet to announce whether or not the PS4 will be region locked, but it would be a wise move for them to keep their system region-free.

The announcement comes as no surprise to many fans. The Xbox and Xbox 360 were both also region locked, as is tradition, it seems, with Microsoft.

What? Seriously? Why is Microsoft trying to make the Xbox One fail? They should really reanalyze the market they’re trying to appeal to here >.>

Unfortunately they seem to be set onto their mainstream path. They don’t understand how volatile those users really are, though they could just take a look at WiiU and see how Nintendo is failing on all accounts despite mainstream going insane on Wii.
Let’s see what Microsoft shows at E3, but right now things are looking pretty bad for them.

I hope you reconsider many things to ‘E3.
