Max Brooks’ The Harlem Hellfighters adapted

Max BrooksWorld War Z did pretty good last year and now is getting a sequel, but the luck for Brooks is not over yet, as he announced today that he sold the film rights for another graphic novel to a studio: The Harlem Hellfighters (which comics will be officially released on April 1, with art by Caanan White).

Caleb Pinkett and James Lassiter will produce the film adaptation for Overbrook Entertainment. The Harlem Hellfighters is a true story about the U.S. Army’s 369th infantry division in World War I, which was composed completely of African-American soldiers. From the enlistment lines in Harlem to the trenches of Europe, we will follow their adventures, made of pain, glory and racial discrimination.

The release date for the movie is far, but we will keep you updated with every detail in the next weeks, like cast and director’s choice.
