Invizimals The Alliance: the invasion on PSVita

Nintendo has Pokémon, Sony has Invizimals. Ok, maybe the comparison is a bit exaggerated, but reading the motto that has marked all of the titles of the Invizimals series since its debut, “Hunt, Battle, Collect”, it’s impossible to not think at the successful series of Pocket Monsters that has given so much success to Nintendo in the last fifteen years. But let’s leave aside the Pokémon for today, focusing instead on Invizimals: at Gamescom we attended a presentation BCD of the last title in the pipeline for PSVita, which is called Invizimals The Alliance.

To be precise, a chapter for PS3 (Invizimals The Lost Kingdom) was also announced but the attention was focused exclusively on the portable title. They developers especially talked about the great potential that the PSVita offers over the PSP console, where the series was born and grew up.

On the shelf Daniel Sanchez-Crespo, CEO of Novarama, seemed visibly proud and excited by the power and features that PSVita has to offer to his team for the development of The Alliance. Greater computing power and a better augmented reality that allowed Novarama to make a substantial leap in quality in comparison to chapters for PSP, obtaining a result that at first sight seems already satisfying and fun.

Before the anticipated live demonstration, Sanchez-Crespo explained some of the new features in Invizimals The Alliance, among which we can list: a marked improvement in augmented reality, over 20 new ways to capture Invizimals, battles between 4 players and a completely 3D camera. All major novelties made possible by the hardware of the PSVita, a true miracle according to Sanchez’s words that has allowed the realization of this chapter of Invizimals, which they already believe will become the best one in the entire series.

Before saying goodbye, the team showed us the game in action: in particular, Sanchez has worked hard for the capture of a new Invizimals, a big monster who, emulating the feats of King Kong, quietly climbed the wall outside the conference room (only thanks to the PSVita’s camera and augmented reality: don’t worry, we were never in danger). After an intense struggle, shots, scrapping away and acrobatic dodges our hero succeeded in capturing the monster.

For such games the big question always worth asking is if we are ready to agitate ourselves like a monkey in the street; the fun in this case though, at least for those who look at us, is pretty much assured. Invizimals The Alliance should be released in October.
