Lords of the Fallen “Not Trying To Top Dark Souls”

While most of Dark Souls fans will be anticipating Bloodborne above everything else, there is indeed another similar game coming out next month: Lords of the Fallen. I’ve reported on it last year during Gamescom after a stunning presentation and shortly I will explain to you why, after getting my hands on both this game and Bloodborne, I liked Lords of the Fallen more.
In the meantime, Creative Director Tomasz Gop (who previously worked on The Witcher 2) told Polygon that the developer isn’t just trying to top Dark Souls, but rather they want to show their own take on the genre.
There aren’t a ton of Souls clones. We’re not going to be one of dozens. And we’re not trying to top Dark Souls. It would be stupid to say that we can do what they do better. But we have our own take on it.
This is definitely in line with what I’ve seen and played. Lords of the Fallen releases on 28th (NA) and 31st(EU) October for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
