Metro Redux Takes Just 17GB Of Your Hard Drive

It appears that Microsoft has jumped the gun, as full details of the upcoming Metro: Redux game have been released online today. In case you’re unaware, Metro Redux is a collection of both Metro 2033 and its sequel Metro Last Light.
Although the games themselves have both been released on the last generation consoles and PC, there are some interesting details regarding the achievements and, more importantly, the memory space required to install both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light. Surprisingly, neither game is that large with 9.2GB for Last Light and 7.85GB for 2033.
Compared to other releases for next generation hardware, these titles will occupy practically nothing. Titanfall, arguably the most popular Xbox One title to date comes in at 17.34Gb, and that’s merely for the initial game, with none of the DLC map packs. The majority of games weighs a lot more, with Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag costing 20.81GB of your hard drive while Battlefield 4 came in at a whopping 34.62GB of space.
This is bound to make Metro Redux an even more compelling purchase, as gamers won’t have to worry too much about their available memory space in order to play it.
Although the Metro series has never really gone mainstream in terms of popularity, its developer 4A Games promised that Redux will include powerful visuals and improved gameplay to compete with the other FPS titles already available. Metro 2033, the first game in the series, will get a heavy makeup thanks to the latest iteration of the 4A Engine, featuring an all-new lighting engine. Both 2033 and Last Light will run at 60FPS on PS4 & XB1.
The images on the Xbox website certainly look improved from the original release.
Metro Redux is expected to hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 29th August; we have an interview scheduled with 4A Games during Gamescom, so stay tuned if you want to know more about it.
