Skara Coming To PS4/XB1 In Q4 2014

We’ve talked about Skara: The Blade Remains one year ago with Cesar Ortega, the creator (alongside Pablo Rodriguez) of this interesting F2P action online game. The team is currently seeking help through Kickstarter, with the final goal of $35K within range and two days and a half remaining; the studio is now using Unreal Engine 4, which clearly shows in the screenshots, and aims to bring the game not only to Xbox One, as stated on the Kickstarter page, but also on PlayStation 4. Both next generation versions shouldn’t suffer any downgrade in graphics quality compared to PC, and they are tentatively scheduled for a release at the very end of 2014.

Yes, we have received a developer’s kit for Xbox One, but we are giving priority to the PC version given that fact that Microsoft has not developed the environment for Free-to-Play games yet. We expect to have this version ready by Christmas.

Our initial testing with the Xbox One dev. Kit – and a badass TV screen – was incredible and although is quite soon to say,  we are pretty confident about porting Skara to next generation of consoles with the same graphic quality, resolution and frame rate than the PC version.

Yes, we would like to release Skara for both XboxOne and PS4 by the end of 2014, although once again this does not depend on us alone.

Kickstarter backers will get to play a version of the game later this month, while Early Access on Steam is planned for some time between August and September. Check back tomorrow for the full interview.
