E3 To Be A Great Show For Everybody
E3 2014 draws near, with each passing week. The world’s most important gaming convention will start in about three weeks from now, and as always there’s a lot of expectation, rumors and leaks already flying around.
Last week, Microsoft dropped the announcement bombshell regarding the Kinect-less Xbox One. Phil Spencer, the Head of Microsoft’s Xbox division and Microsoft Studios, clarified just a few hours ago that they decided to do it before the E3 so that they could focus on an entertaining show with “special things”.
Insider shinobi602 took the opportunity to add that people need to realize how Sony isn’t sitting on their hands either, and the upcoming E3 will be “a great show for everybody”.
However, this is in direct contrast to the words uttered by insider Thuway just a few minutes ago. In a series of tweets, he talked about E3 2014 as a simple “warm-up” for next year while also adding that people should expect some titles scheduled for Fall 2014 to slip into 2015.
Personally, I sincerely hope that this won’t be the case. Already many titles have slipped into 2015, such as The Witcher 3 or Dying Light. Uncharted PS4 is also pretty much certainly a 2015 title by now, but if even The Order 1886 or Sunset Overdrive for example should get a delay, then it would be a massive disappointment. 2014 promised to be really amazing, but so far it’s been completely underwhelming.
There’s been no truly great AAA title yet for next generation consoles; if whatever’s left for the second half gets delayed as well, this year may become just terrible in terms of game releases.
