Blizzard trademarks “Overwatch”, Next-Gen AAA Game

Blizzard Entertainment has filed a trademark for Overwatch , which is definitely its unannounced project/game software as seen by the trademark’s identification:

Computer game software, computer game discs, downloadable computer game programs, computer game software downloadable from a global computer network, electronic games software for wireless devices, interactive multimedia computer game programs, mousepads, computer mouses, headsets for use with computers, computer keyboards

To further your interest, Blizzard Entertainment has updated their Career Opportunities with a new category called “Unannounced Game Title”. They are looking for 3D Character Animator, Concept Artist, Lead 3D Character Artist, Lead 3D Modeler, Lead Producer, Level Designer, Senior Art Manager and a VFX manager.

 

It’s interesting that potential candidates need to have experience in shipping AAA titles for at least 3 years, which leads us to believe that Blizzard is working on a heavy-hitter. Also, Lead 3D Modeler lists one interesting requirement:

Exceptional understanding of next generation asset creation pipelines and tools
