Playstation Now European Launch Set For Q1 2015
The biggest Playstation news to come out of CES 2014 was undoubtedly the official announcement of PlayStation Now, the streaming service based on Gaikai technology which could very well revolutionize the industry in multiple ways.
However, other than saying that the service is expected to launch during Summer in USA & Canada, no specifics were given for other territories, until today, when Austrian website PS4News came in possession of the leaked roadmap image that we have posted above, suggesting that Japan & Korea will see PlayStation Now some time during Q4 2014, while the PlayStation Now european launch is set for a tentative Q1 2015.
That is honestly sooner than I expected, since Sony representatives previously mentioned that the European network infrastructure is more fragmented and therefore, difficult to work with. However, the big question is how many customers will be able to use the service without hitches in Q1 2015.
The website also cites sources reporting that each server will consist of eight modified PlayStation 3 consoles, all placed in a single motherboard. We’ll keep you posted for anything about PlayStation Now.
