PS4 Sells Next to Nothing in Brazil

The PS4 has been out for two weeks in North America and sold over a million units, and has been released in Europe today with a similarly crazy reception.

Brazilian news outlet G1 is reporting that during the first 12 hours of the PS4′s launch in Brazil no units have been sold. Reportedly, boxes have been left to collect dust at retailers across the country.

The reason is not a lack of interest from the young and upcoming Brazilian market, but rather the insane asking price that equates to $1850, which Sony put down to the cost of imports.

No doubt the PS4 is flourishing in South America, but nobody is going to spend nearly two grand when they can just import a PS4 from the US for a quarter the price.

At that price, this seemed almost inevitable.
