In a glowing press release, Sony Computer Entertainment proudly announced to have sold through over 1 million PS4 units during the first 24 hours. PlayStation 4 released in North America on 15th November, and it is expected to launch on 29th November in Europe, Australia/New Zealand and other countries in Central and South America such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Perù.
Asian countries such as Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan will get PS4 in December, while Japan will have to wait February 2014. Here’s the obligatory celebration tweet by Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios and now a legitimate Twitter personality.
Considering that Sony isn’t selling PS4 units at a loss unlike PlayStation 3 back at launch, this bodes extremely well for the company and the console as a whole.
