Box Office USA: Gravity on top again, Carrie is third
During last week Gravity was on top of the US Box Office for its second consecutive week, beating the newcomer Captain Phillips, placed second (as you can read here) and this week the same story repeats, with Alfonso Cuaron’s space drama still sitting on top of the list with $31 million (3 weeks record now), while Tom Hanks heroic naval story grossing $17.3 million more, number two position.
This weekend’s new releases are Carrie, performing slightly less than expected with a third place with $17 million and Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger thriller Escape Plan, in fifth place with $9.8 million.
As you can notice, last week newcomer Machete Kills is already out of the top ten after just 1 week, while Gravity really seems unstoppable.
