Not long ago, Nintendo’s Japanese YouTube channel released a new comparison video, showing scenes from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker on the Gamecube, alongside some fresh scenes from the soon-to-be-released Wii U HD remake.
The differences in this video are really quite remarkable, particularly the resolution. The upscaling to 1080p is really very noticeable.
One of the key differences I noticed in this video was sailing towards an island. In the Gamecube version, the islands would look very low-resolution and even pixelated from a distance, but the Wii U remake has the islands looking stunning even from a long distance away.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD releases worldwide October 4th, and slightly earlier on the Nintendo eShop in some territories.
