Deadline reports that Alfonso Cuarón‘s space drama Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney will open the 70th edition of the Venice Film Festival (August 28-September 7).
The Warner Bros movie, which will reach US theatres on October 4, stars Sandra Bullock as a brilliant, but novice, medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, while George Clooney is a veteran astronaut. One day, during a routine spacewalk, an accident leaves the two completely alone in open space.
