It’s not new for Hollywood to create movies based on succesfully online short projects; it happened with Alive in Joburg in the past years, which became District 9, and now it’s going to happen again with The Raven by Ricardo de Montreuil. This 6 minutes short, which you can see by browsing the youtube page of the director, shows an action packed sequence of a young boy on the run from the police in some kind of near-future, with marked dystopian traits.
Universal is going to produce along with Mark Walhberg (who was quite impressed by Montreuil‘s job) and the great news of today is that the producers have contacted the actor Gerard Butler to star as the main character (named Chris Black) in this upcoming adaptation.
